Boston Lyric Opera

Boston Lyric Opera (BLO), founded in 1976, is one of North Americas fastest-growing opera companies, provides fully staged opera and is committed to featuring debuts of the worlds most promising young singers, directors, conductors and designers. All performances are held in The Shubert Theatre located at 265 Tremont Street in Boston.

Over 40,000 people attend BLO mainstage productions, plus an additional 27,000 through education and community programs. Free pre-opera lectures are offered before all BLO performances; 4,000 people attend these lectures annually. Six of the past eight seasons were sold out.
