The company owner is the 6th generation of brewmeisters going back about 150 years. The Louis Koch Lager beer made famous in St. Louis, Missouri, was recreated as the Samuel Adams Boston Lager brand. In 1985 when it was first introduced, this family beer recipe was voted the Best Beer in America at the largest American beer festival.
