Centerville Historical Society Museum

Located on Main St., this 14-room museum is housed in an 1840s home to which exhibition wings have been added. Exhibits include a Colonial revival kitchen, Victorian period rooms, gowns and accessories, marine and Civil War artifacts, farm tools, decorative arts and a research library.

Open Wednesday - Saturday 1:30pm-4:30pm in mid-June through mid-September.

Comments: This is a wonderful museum with a lot to offer. I understand there are new exhibits being planned for 2006.. I visited in fall 2005 and the quilts and ladies' clothing were amazing. I don't know the hours but I believe they are now open more than this listing suggests. Centerville is a quaint town, worth visiting. We also heard about fantastic ice cream nearby--Four Seas--but it was closed when I visited. It would make a nice summer day trip to follow the musuem visit with a cone.
