Charter Street Burying Point |
This site was established in 1637 and is purported to be the oldest cemetery in the city. It contains the tombs of Gov. Simon Bradstreet, "Mayflower" passenger Richard More, Col. John Hawthorne and many other notable Salem citizens including witch trial judges John Hathorne and Bartholomew Gedney.
