Fort Warren is the entrance to the Boston Harbor Islands State Park. It is a granite fort on Georges Island in Boston Harbor. Construction of the fort began in 1833. It was used as a Civil War (1861-65) prison for captured Confederates, though construction was not completed till 1869. Rangers are posted there to conduct tours of the fort.
