Gore Place

This historic home was built in 1806 for Gov. Chistopher Gore, a US Senator and prominent member of the Federalist Party. Set in a 40-acre park, the house features 22 rooms furnished in period. Gore Place served as a summer home where the Gores entertained such notable dignitaries as the Marquis de Lafayette, Daniel Webster, and James Monroe.
