Located on Hwy 41, this is a 1,200-acre restoration of a Shaker community founded in 1790. The Shakers, dedicated to simplicity, celibacy and equality, lived at the Hancock village until 1960. The village includes 21 buildings with original Shaker furniture and artifacts, an unusual round stone barn, a working farm, and an heirloom herb and vegetable garden. Hands-on activities are featured.
Open daily 9:30am-5pm Memorial Day weekend through October; 10am-3pm April through day before Memorial Day weekend and late October through November. Closed Thanksgiving.
