Holyoke

Holyoke is located in Hampden County just N of Springfield along Interstate 391 on the banks of the Connecticut River near Westover Air Force Base and Hamptom Ponds State Park. Volleyball was conjured here for the first time in 1895 at the local Y.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 40,964, a decrease of 2,740 since 1990.

Holyoke is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts metro area.
