The Houghton Library is the principal rare book and manuscript library of Harvard College. Its mission is to support research and instruction in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the University by acquiring, cataloging, securing, and preserving significant literary, historical, and visual materials, and by providing access to them through catalogs, finding aids, and an expert staff. The library offers a variety of exhibitions during the year.
