Hull Lifesaving Museum |
Located on Nantasket Ave., this building was built in 1889 as a U.S. Life Saving Station. The building also served as a Coast Guard station from 1915-69. Displays re-create life in a turn of the 20th century lifesaving station and recount the rescue missions of Joshua James, a lifelong resident of Hull. The museum features photographs and stories of notable Boston harbor shipwrecks, lighthouse artifacts, exhibits of lifesaving equipment, a surf boat and hands-on children's activites. Open Wednesday - Sunday 10am-5pm in late June through Labor Day; Friday, Sunday, Monday and holidays 10am-4pm the rest of the year.
