Lynn is located in
Essex County 10 miles NE of
Boston between
Salem and Saugus along Highway 107 near Nahant Bay. Founded in 1629, Lynn is one of New England's oldest communities. Once a major shoe manufacturing center, the city is now home to a General Electric Plant.
Lynn Woods Reservation is a 2,200 acre municipal park, featuring mineral and glacial traces and offers hiking, rock climbing, picnicking and cross-country skiing. Lynn is part of the Boston, Massachusetts-New Hampshire metro area.
