Mashpee is located in
Barnstable County 11 miles W of Hyannis between Waquoit and Centerville along Highway 130 near Otis Air Force Base. Descendants of the Mashpee Indians still gather cranberries from the many bogs in the Mashpee area. Old Indian Meeting House, the second Indian church on the cape, was erected in 1684; it stands in the old burying ground along Hwy 28 south of town.
