The Original Mother Church, built in 1894, is at the heart of the Christian Science Center and remains today as it was when first built. Made of New Hampshire granite, the church contains stained-glass windows that depict Biblical events. The Mother Church is the world headquarters of the Christian Science Church. It was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879 and now has about 2,000 branch churches worldwide.
