The Nichols House Museum offers a unique glimpse into 19th and early 20th century life on Boston's historic Beacon Hill. This impressive four-story town house was constructed in 1804 as one of four connected row houses in the early development of Beacon Hill. This museum is housed in a Federal-style house in the heart of Beacon Hill that was the former home of Rose Standish Nichols, a prominent Bostonian. The house preserves the Nichols' 16th-19th century furnishings, which reflect the wealth and privilege that were characteristic of Beacon Hill and Boston's upper class. Open Tuesday-Saturday 12:15pm-4:15pm in May through October. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 12:15pm-4:15pm, February through April and November through December. Closed July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and December 25.
