North Bridge |
This was the site of "the shot heard 'round the world", the first major engagement of the Revolution April 19, 1775. Just across the bridge stands Daniel Chester French's Minuteman Statue, which is engraved with a stanza from Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Concord Hymn". North Bridge Visitor Center is a short walk past the statue and up the hill.
