Sargent House Museum

Located on Middle St, this museum is housed in an 18th century Georgian style home built in 1782 for Judith Sargent Murray, who is known for her essays, poems and plays. The Sargent House looks as it might have during Judith Sargent Murray's lifetime. Visitors will also see a collection of original works by the great portrait painter John Singer Sargent (1856-1925), who traces his roots back to Colonial Gloucester.

Open Friday - Monday, noon-4pm Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
