Founded in 1898, this is part of the University of Maryland System. The university offers programs through the schools of arts and humanities, business, natural and social sciences, and education. There are 4 undergraduate and 7 graduate schools. The 260 acre campus is in a small town about 150 miles west of
Baltimore and northwest of Washington DC. Including residence halls there are 41 buildings.
Fraternities, sororities and over 150 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours of the campus are available through the admissions office.
