Anne Arundel Medical Center is a two-campus, comprehensive care medical center serving a growing regional market that encompasses Anne Arundel County, the Eastern Shore and Prince Georges County. Patients come from a multi-state area for special services, such as the Center for Joint Replacement. The Health Care Information Association named AAMC the area's top hospital for quality and care in 1998.AAMC's two campuses, an acute-care full service hospital in downtown Annapolis and a modern, multi-services campus at Medical Park in the Parole area of Annapolis just off Route 50, treat 43,000 people each year in their Emergency Service and 15,000 as inpatients. More than 400 physicians, the majority board-certified, have privileges at the hospital, providing services across a broad range of specialties in five areas of excellence: Medicine Services, Oncology Services, Surgical Services, Wellness Services, and Women's and Children's Services.
