Wildwood Summer Theatre is the only fully independent all-youth summer theatre in the Washington, DC area. It is basically a theatre for drama, created and sustained by an unbroken chain of young people, who first learn and gradually come to teach the practical realities of mounting a full-scale theatrical production. They produce atleast one musical every summer. Members are between the ages of 14 and 25. This provides a learning experience in all aspects of theatre, including the very rare opportunity to participate in institutional and production management, design, performance, and technical crafts.
