The Walters Art Museum represents an overview of world art from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe, and counts among its many treasures Greek sculpture and Roman sarcophagi; medieval ivories and old master paintings; art deco jewelry; delicate Asian ceramics and 19th-century masterpieces. Museum conducts special events, scholarly lectures, seminars, mini-courses, presentations by living artists, and traditional and experimental films, as well as on-stage performances and gallery tours.
