Chase Tavern Farm Alpacas was established in 1993. They are located in the town of Bowdoin, Maine, halfway between Portland and Augusta, just minutes from Interstate-I-95. The house, built in 1767, is rich in history and its land worked agriculturally for over 200 years. The alpacas are cousins to the llama and are lovable, friendly animals, each with their own distinct personality. Dedicated to the alpaca industry offering the finest selection of breeding stock in New England, this is a full-time family farm and alpacas are the full-time business. Large enough to provide an excellent selection; small enough to provide personalized attention. Specializing in superior quality fibered alpacas and offer handspun and millspun yarns from their own alpaca for the handknitter. Their breeding program is nationally recognized as superior and the many ribbons hanging on their walls prove it. They look forward to your farm visit very soon.
