Acton Elementary School is one of Maine's handful of 'one-school' school districts. The administration consists of a full time principal and a part time superintendent. The school offers a varied program for 300 children in kindergarten through grade eight. The early elementary program serves those in kindergarten through grade four, while the middle school program provides for students in grades five through eight. The mission of the Acton School Department is to provide the opportunity for all children to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become healthy, competent and responsible citizens.
