Built in 1885, Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps provides a quiet, scenic place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Located deep in the woods of North Central Maine, about 28 1/2 miles North of Millinocket, and almost 4 miles off the gravel road that leads from Millinocket to Maine's highest peak, Mt. Katahdin. With its 3 1/2 miles of tote trail and and no other public camps within 11 miles in any direction, Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps offer a select group of individuals a personal and private retreat from the hassles of everyday life.
