This 140-acre santuary was once a delivery point for Maine timbers; the terrain, great for hikers and birdwatchers, encompasses open fields, alder lowlands, mature pine and hemlock forests, and apple orchards. A diverse population of wildlife inhabits the land, and visitors may see mink, deer, and porcupines in natural locations. Open daily from dawn to dusk, access to the site is free to the public. Located 20 minutes north of
Portland.
