Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park is a 250-acre forested tract along the scenic Salmon Falls River. The park includes picnic facilities and hiking trails through old growth stands of pine and hemlock. Vaughan Woods can be found by traveling south on Route 236 out of South Berwick. After about 1/2-mile, turn right opposite the junior high school onto Vine Street. Go about one mile to the intersection of Vine and Old Fields Road. Turn right and watch for the Vaughan Woods entrance on the right.
