Ferndale is in
Oakland County, and in the
West-Southwest Region (part of the
Detroit, Michigan Metropolitan area).
You can locate Ferndale along State Hwy 1, and also east of Oak Park on Troy Sreet.
Ferndale was declared a village in 1918 and as a city in 1927. Ferndale received its name because the area was overgrown with ferns.
Ferndale has a few parks to visit as well as the Ferndale Historical Museum and Ferndale Public Library.
