Hanka Homestead Museum |
Nestled in a forest clearing this museum features a 1920s Finnish farm theme with furniture, dishes, tools, and farm equipment reflective of the period. A log house and barns, sauna, milk house, root celler and other outbuildings sit on a 40 acre farmstead six miles W of Keweenaw Bay on the Upper Peninsula. Hanka homestead reminds 2,000-3,000 visitors each year of an eariler age when pioneers hacked out a living in the midst of the forest.
