Comments: Years ago I worked at the Hanka Homestead Museum and still think of the many people I meet while showing people around the place it is pretty cool how even restless teenagers like seeing all the farm buildings , like the sprong-house that was a building with part of the floor built in sush a way to place milk cans in and the cool spring water flowed around it to keep the dairy items cold. It is like, what do you mean they didn't have fridges? Something about taking the time to hear the great stories that people remember after seeing some of the household itewms that brings back the memory of their grandparents or their own way of life when they were young. It is a special, unhurried space and place, where the air is very good on the south side of Askil hill and the story of one family lives on to represent the Finnish farming/mining history of the turn of the century, the 1930 or near that time..Peace
