The Hanson Hills Recreation Area is managed and operated by the Grayling Recreation Authority. It is a 1000 acre winter - summer Sports Park. Hanson Hill features 11 slopes for downhill skiing, 35 km of cross country terrain, ice skating, snowshoeing, tubing, horse drawn sleigh rides, lessons, rentals, and a snack bar. Special events for year round fun include the annual spookfest Halloween party, the ski swap, soup dinner and open house, family fun night, and the Michigan cup marathon, and Hanson Hills classic cross country ski races. Facilities for family reunions, wedding receptions, parties, meetings, and banquets are available.
