Saint Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital |
Saint Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital was founded by a husband-and-wife team in 1935 during the Great Depression. The house, which would serve as Saline's hospital until 1958, was a church, family dwelling and a mortuary before the McHenry renovation, and served as the site of the Saline Public Library until 1994.
In 1991, Saint Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital merged with Catherine McAuley Health System. An $8-million expansion and renovation project in 1993 enabled the hospital to upgrade many of its services.
Today, Saint Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital is an 82-bed facility with an active medical staff of more than 50. Services include a 24-hour emergency room, laboratory, cardiac rehabilitation, CT scanning, chemical dependency treatment, physical and respiratory therapy, ambulatory surgery, and many other services. It is a unit of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.
