Sanilac County Historical Museum |
Located on South Ridge Road, the 1875 Loop-Harrison House, a restored Victorian house, contains most of its original furnishings. Also on display are medical instruments, antique glassware, marine, millitary and American Indian artifacts and the original Bark Shanty post office cancellation stamps.
On the grounds are a dairy museum, with relics of the industry; the restored 19th century Banner Cabin furnished in period; Huckins School; a general store; and a carriage house that contains exhibits relating to the fishing, blacksmithing and lumber industries.
Open Tuesday through Friday 11am-4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday noon-4:30pm in June through September.
