The Historical Society was formed in 1986. Its goal and mission is to enable the community-at-large to connect with and understand its past, to preserve the quality of community life, and to respect and use the area's history to shape its future. It is housed in the old pump house at the foot of Mount Baldhead, across the river from downtown Saugatuck.
