The park offers a sandy beach, hiking trails and fishing opportunities for the angler. Lake Michigamme is one of the top walleye lakes in the upper peninsula and also provides fine catches of bass, perch, northernpike and muskellunge. A boat launch is provided.
The modern campground is located in a stand of conifers and hardwoods overlooking the lake. Showers, flush toilets and electricity are provided and the beach is nearby. Camping facilities open April 15 to November 15.
