Whitefish Point Lighthouse

Located next to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, this is the oldest working lighthouse on Lake Superior. It began operating in 1849. The point marks a change of course for ships navigating the treacherous Lake Superior coastline. Overlooking the graveyard of the Great Lakes, the lighthouse marks the critical turning point for all ships leaving and entering Lake Superior.
