Wolverine Outdoor Education Center is located in the Sturgeon river valley two miles north of Wolverine, Michigan. Rolling hills, fields, ponds, streams, and cedar swamps offer a wide variety of wildlife habitats for study and exploration. The 360 acre property is adjacent to the pigeon river and hardwood state forests. Offered is a wide variety of activity choices which the school may select from and feel that any school subject can be enhanced by the outdoor classes that are offered. Students are taught in small groups of twelve to fourteen where the emphasis is on learning by doing. Students are given responsibilities and challenges that promote high self esteem, respect, and cooperation. Teachers and parent chaperones take an active role in supervision and participation in activities.
