Battle Lake is located in Otter Tail County, in Red River Valley Region. It calls itself our "Little City with a Big Heart" located in the heart of 1,000 lakes. The Battle Lake area offers lakes, campgrounds, parks, local and state (Glendalough), golf courses, resorts and the "Otter Trail Scenic Byway". The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 762, an increase of 52 since 1990.
