Calumet

Calumet is located in Itasca County, northeast of Grand Rapids on US 169 near Swan Lake, in the Woods and Waters Region. Named after the Indian peace pipes, Calumet became a permanent community when the Hill Mine was put into operation. Mining is still the principal focus.
