The city of Cook is located on US 53 at the western end of Lake Vermilion, an area extensively settled and developed in the early years of the twentieth century. Cook is in
St. Louis County, in the
Lakes of the Northern Lights Region. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 651, a decrease of 29 since 1990.
