The historic 1882 Comstock home was built by Solomon Comstock, who established the First National Bank and
Moorhead State University, and helped James J. Hill build a railroad system in the Red River Valley. Inside, warm varnished oak and butternut trim and ornately colorful Queen Anne and Eastlake furniture and tapestries brighten the rooms. Ada Comstock, one of three children reared in this home, became the first dean of women at the University of Minnesota and later served as president of Radcliffe College. Guided tours feature interpretation of the restored house and its original furnishings. Located 1/2 mile north of the I-94 exit on Hwy 75. Open summer weekend afternoons only, late May through September.
