New Ulm is the seat of
Brown County, in the
Historic Prairies Region west of
Mankato on US 14. In the heart of the scenic Minnesota River Valley, New Ulm is becoming known as the "Christmas City" with its many Christmas traditions held each year.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 13,491, an increase of 359 since 1990.
