Orchestra Hall

Search Minneapolis Minnesota

Its modern, open-glass structure and uniquely fanciful blue tubes mark the Orchestra Hall as one of Minneapolis' architectural landmarks; the home of the Minnesota Orchestra has welcomed as many as 10 million guests to more than 4,000 concerts here since the Hall opened in 1974. Designed to emphasize the concert experience, rather than the building itself, the structure's simple lines and clean exterior stand in opposition to the old-world opulence displayed by many of the popular music halls of the past. True to its vision of de-formalizing the concert-going experience, Orchestra Hall features a ring of open 'tiers' in the concert hall and a series of colorful flying bridges in the lobby designed to bring people together. Discounts and pre-public ticket sales for groups of 15 or more, call for more information. The Box Office is located on the corner of 11th Street & Marquette Avenue, open through intermission on concert nights.
