Starbuck is located in Pope County, in the West Central Lakes Region, on the shores of Lake Minnewaska, Minnesota's 13th largest lake. It lies where Hwys 28 and 29 meet, south of Alexandria. Glacial Lakes State Park is nearby. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,187, an increase of 44 since 1990.
