City Map with Features
Lakes, rivers and streams abound throughout the more than 2 million acres of Superior National Forest in northeast Minnesota. Most of the forest is accessible by automobile. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness stretches along the international boundary next to Canada's Quetico Provincial Park. In this million-acre area, travel permits are required. The forest is home to large populations of birds and wildlife. Camping is available and most campgrounds are open spring through late fall. Boating, canoeing, bird watching and berry picking are popular summertime activities in the forest.
