Walnut Grove is located in
Redwood County north of Worthington on US 14 in the
Historic Prairies Region. The Wilder Pageant, an outdoor drama based on the life of author Laura Ingalls Wilder in Walnut Grove, is staged annually.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 572, a decrease of 53 since 1990.
