In the
Historic Prairies Region, Windom is located on the Des Moines River in
Cottonwood County at the intersection of US 71 and Hwys 60 and 62. It is also the County Seat.
It features Tegel Park on Cottonwood Lake. The historic courthouse is located in the center of the town square. Windom is primarily a farming community, and the population is about 4,500.
