Boone's Lick State Historic Site

One of the earliest centers of industry in central Missouri, Boone's Lick is the site of the salt-manufacturing business once owned and operated by Daniel Boone's sons, Daniel M. and Nathan Boone. Visitors to the 51-acre historic site may follow a self-guided, wooded trail that leads down the hillside to the salt springs where the Boone brothers began their business in 1805. A picnic area is provided.
