Excelsior Springs is located in Clay County. Ten mineral waters of four groups: saline, soda, calcium, and iron manganese, have made Excelsior Springs a well-known spa.

The Hall of Waters, operated by the city, has bath departments for men and women as well as a Hall of Springs, where the waters are dispensed for drinking and for bottling at a plant.

Excelsior Springs is located just off Hwy 69, northeast of Kansas City; Watkins Mill State Park and the Crooked River are nearby. Excelsior Springs is part of the Kansas City, Missouri-Kansas metro area.
