Kirksville

Kirksville is located in Adair County, of which it is the county seat, just off Hwy 63 N of Macon near Long Branch Lake in NE Missouri. Thousand Hills is a recreation area which includes Forest Lake.

It was named after Jesse Kirk, a settler who pledged free whiskey and dinner for the surveyors if they named the community for him.
