Mark Twain Birthplace SHS |
This state historic site features the two-room 1830s cabin where American author Samuel Leghorne Clemens, best known as author/humorist Mark Twain, was born. A modern museum exhibiting many of his personal belongings, as well as a handwritten manuscript of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, surrounds the cabin. Displays include his childhood and adult life as an author and businessman. Special rates are available for organized groups. Located adjacent to the village of Florida, within Mark Twain State Park, off Hwy 107.
