Starlight Theatre is Kansas City's largest and oldest performing arts organization and is the second largest theatre of its kind in the United States. It was founded in 1950 and is now in its 51st season. Starlight Theatre has a 12,000 square foot fully enclosed and climate controlled stage. The theatre seats nearly 8,000 people, and is located on 14 acres in Swope Park next to the Kansas City Zoo.

It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
