Sumner is located in
Chariton County. Sumner is located off Hwy 36, just south and west of Chillicothe;
Swan Lake, Silver Lake, and
Pershing State Park are nearby. It is known as the "Wild Goose Capital of the World" and claims they have the world's largest statue of a goose.
